Our second day in California went a little like this-
We woke up this morning and ate breakfast. Once we were done getting ready, we went to Long Beach to pick up our great, great, great Aunt Rita (who is 89 years old) so we could take her shopping. It was really fun because she had no idea Bailey and I were in town! We went to South Coast Plaza which is a big shopping center that has all kinds of stores! The best part about our shopping experience was going into Claire’s! We were so surprised at how much Aunt Rita liked that store! The first thing she picked up was a cute handbag with a flower and bird design on it. ūüôā Then once we found the temporary tattoos we were looking for she grabbed those and bought them right away! She has always wanted a tattoo, but her doctor told her she isn’t allowed to get one, so we bought temporary ones! But she wasn’t the only one to buy something… my grandma bought a 4th of July headband and bead necklaces and I bought a little ring that has a turtle on it. Then after Claire’s we went to Macy’s and Bailey picked out an adorable dress. After that, we took her home and Bailey and Rita hit it off with their IPADS! They exchanged apps and tips from one another. They also email each other constantly… now remember, Aunt Rita has never had a computer before! Now, while they were busy playing with their IPADS, I decided to go play with Rita’s 4 year old budgie bird, Henry. I held him, hand fed him, and talked to him. Now I know talking to a bird sounds funny, but he knows how to talk and says some pretty funny things!

Today was so much fun. It all started when we went shopping with our grandma in Huntington Beach, California.¬†We went to a store called “Jack’s Surf Shop”.My grandma bought me my first pair of TOMS shoes! We ate lunch at¬†the “Beach Pit BBQ”. I had ribs, which were really good, Ivie and Grandma had a pulled pork sandwich.

They really liked their sandwiches too.

At Beach Pit Bar be Que, they gave posters for kids to color of a pig Bar-Be-Queing. Ivie colored her pig poster and the general manager Ryan Warren and manager -Simon Stacier hung it up on the wall. My sister and I told them about our blog site¬†and being military kids. Both Simon and Ryan’s relatives will be deploying too. They thought our blog site was¬†a good idea. Here is Ivie and me with Simon Stacier and Ryan Warren.- Bailey

Our step dad named our cat when he was a kitten. He picked the name because our cat acted crazy, and he reminded us of the movie¬† ” Bolt.”

Rhino is a orange and white cat. When he gets tired he winks his one eye, it’s so funny. He just turned one year old. Ever since he was itty, bitty, he loved to play. I love throwing balls made of foil, he fetches like a dog. He is very mischievous, he loves to jump on the kitchen counters, and goes behind the TV and pulls the connecting wires out. He is an indoor cat, and he tries to go outside. He is a very loving cat. He likes his face rubbed and he likes to jump on your lap. ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† Do you have a pet?

Most military kids experience  their parent having to study to get promoted in their  job.  Our mom was studying to so she could make Master Sergeant. It was not easy for our mom and  we wanted to help her.

“When our mom was studying¬† we would usually make sure we were quiet and¬† didn’t disturb her. We would also just give her prayers so she would pass her tests. Kids should do the same when parents are studying for a promotion! Just give them quiet and let them study. You can help them by doing extra stuff around the house like doing the dishes occasionally or setting the table every night to give them extra time to study and so they don’t have to stress out about everything at home.”- Ivie

“I tried to be very quiet, I read books”- Bailey

Our mom passed the test and we all celebrated! Here is a picture of our mom getting her temporary stripes.
